Veracity for Class Maritime Portal
Remote survey
My applications > Fleet Status > Vessel Services > Class Status > Vessel list > Vessel status and request survey > Remote survey

A Remote survey can be requested for survey items marked with a Wi‑Fi (🛜) or remote connection icon in the Veracity portal. If the required scope is not available under Occasional surveys or Periodical surveys, select Miscellaneous item occasional survey under Occasional surveys.

After selecting the survey scope and clicking Next, a pop‑up will prompt you to choose between Onboard survey and Remote survey. This pop‑up appears only when survey items eligible for remote handling identified by the Wi‑Fi (🛜) icon are selected in scope. Final confirmation of Remote survey handling is subject to technical evaluation, and the planning section will confirm once the request is submitted.

To carry out the survey without attendance on board, select Remote survey. If you select Onboard survey, the request will follow the standard process with onboard attendance.

After selecting Remote survey, provide a brief description of the survey scope in the next step. If applicable, include details of any damage, references to a DATE case, and any other information relevant to the survey.

In the next step, provide the requested contact information and click Submit to create the survey request. You will then be directed to the created survey request page with the selected scope.

A pop‑up may appear displaying an Important update describing new features. If you do not wish to see this message the next time you create a survey request, select Don’t show this message again.

Yellow tile boxes are displayed contextually on survey request page for actions that require your attention, such as accepting Terms and Conditions, PO number or uploading required documents etc.

Please note that the system automatically generates a default DocReq (documents required) under the Documents tab for the selected Remote survey. Upload all listed documents, along with any additional relevant documents such as risk assessments, damage reports, service reports, or flag authorisations etc. If the relevant document categories are not shown, upload the files under Other documents. You may also use the Drag and drop option to upload files.

When you start uploading documents, a pop‑up will appear. After all requested documents have been successfully uploaded, click Yes, I’m done uploading.

Submitted documents will be reviewed by our technical experts. Use Chat on the survey request page to communicate with the planner or appointed remote surveyor, if needed.

If any documents are Not Accepted, they will be updated in the Documents tab with a rejection comment.

Review the rejection comments and re‑upload the required documents as needed. There is currently no automatic notification for rejected documents, updates will be communicated via Chat by the appointed remote surveyor.
